Valentines Cuisine
As you and your partner are led by candlelight through the tropical garden entrance of Three Monkeys restaurant to our intimate table on the eve of this wonderful Day. Garlands of roses lined the woven bamboo walls and ceiling, infusing the interior with a sweet floral scent. Our private table overlooked the quaint freshwater lagoon bordered by lush jungle foliage underneath a star-filled sky.
We were presented with a nice romantic dinner set menu paired beautifully with fine French wines. As we gazed deeply into one another’s eyes, our server poured two glasses of champagne and assured us this would be an evening we would never forget. We clinked our glasses in a toast to our love before savoring the effervescent nectar.
A creamy Thai pumpkin soup garnished with roasted crab meat arrived, awakening our palates with its velvety sweetness punctuated by spikes of ginger and lemongrass. The chilled champagne contrasted sublimely with the soup’s warmth. Our senses were already dazzled and the first course had barely whet our appetites for what was to come.
Our glasses were refilled with a dry white Burgundy as we savored a mixed seafood salad with soft lettuces, squid, shrimp and scallops tossed in a piquant dressing of lime, fish sauce and freshly diced chilies. The marry of sweet seafood with bright citrus and herbs against the white wine’s oakiness was an absolute delight.
Our friendly server arrived tableside to dramatically flame grill tender strips of marinated sirloin to medium rare perfection right before our eyes. The sizzling meat was served atop watercress alongside triple-cooked potato wedges and a decadent blue cheese cream sauce. We gradually transitioned to a full-bodied red blend from Tuscany’s famed Super Tuscan region to compliment the flawlessly executed steak course.
As the final glimmers of purple dusk sparkled across the tranquil lagoon, dangling lanterns were lit casting a warm glow over our intimate space. We gazed into one another’s eyes, speaking softly of plans for the future and declaring our timeless affection through hushed words and tender caresses.
Just when we thought the evening could get no better, our server smoothly unveiled the sweet conclusion – a duo of chocolate ganache tartlets swirled with raspberry coulis and dollops of vanilla cream. Our wine glasses were filled with the restaurant’s premium vintage Port as we indulged euphorically in each rich, decadent bite.Here at Three Monkeys you can enjoy multiple cuisines from Japanese to Western meals as well. As we finished the last spoonfuls of our dessert, our server suddenly reappeared with a dazzling surprise – a tower of glistening champagne flutes filled with Veuve Clicquot Rosé. The iconic bouquet of pink bubbly was the perfect celebration of our romantic and beautiful evening of indulgence and adoration shared in this intimate jungle sanctuary.
